Grant Application
We require all U.S. non-profits to complete our on-line grant application. Applications are accepted from March 1 through June 1 of each year and are reviewed for funding to be paid the following year. Applicants will receive notification in the first quarter of the calendar year in which funding will occur. Click here to access our on-line application.
Key Focus Areas
Carrier is proud to support issues that affect our business and our employees. We will give greater consideration to applications in the following three focus areas:
Environment and Sustainability ¿ Organizations that promote the use of green building practices, and environmental sustainability in urban centers. Innovative programs that protect and conserve the environment.
Civic & Community ¿ Organizations promoting civic and community affairs, including, for example, neighborhood development (Habitat for Humanity), legal aid, urban revitalization, civil rights, and equal opportunity.
Education ¿ Colleges and universities that have been identified as the Corporation¿s best sources of engineering and management talent are given priority consideration. In addition, priority is afforded to colleges and universities that are frequently chosen by employees for continuing education under the Employee Scholar Program. Contributions can be unrestricted (general operating funds) or can be restricted grants (research, fellowships, or special purpose grants). Contributions below the college level will emphasize schools with disadvantaged students, and vocational training schools with an HVAC component.
We will accept applications from, but give lesser consideration to, the following areas:
Arts & Culture ¿ The Corporation will contribute directly to cultural organizations (supporting creative excellence) rather than through federated drives.
Health & Human Services ¿ Our primary avenue of giving in this focus area is through our Corporation¿s annual United Way workplace campaign. General recreational organizations, such as YMCA, YWCA, Boys and Girls Clubs and other nationally recognized youth athletic associations are also eligible for contributions.
